Congrats Class of 2024!

Interested in Graduation photos? You're in the right place.

I'm proud to call myself a Bruin and an alum of one of the best schools in the nation. I graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and was involved in Grace on Campus, Foundations Choreography, Bruin Racing (SuperMileage Vehicle), and Circle K (briefly).

I began photographing graduation portraits in my 2nd year at UCLA, and since, have photographed over 80 sessions on the UCLA campus. I'm fluent in traversing all parts of the campus as north as Broad Art Center and as south as the Engineering Buildings / CNSI. I love being on UCLA's campus and I would love to photograph your graduation portraits!

I'M SALLY DENG.

My Favorite Parts of the UCLA Campus

the Flowers

My ABSOLUTE favorite part of the UCLA campus has to be the way the sun glows on the grass at golden hour. Whether it's along the Janss Steps grassy area, the grass patches between Powell and Royce, or even little bits of grass at the top of Bruin Walk, the sun glow on the grass is absolutely magical.

the Architecture

UCLA has pink flowers all around Kaplan Hall (or for my generation, the Humanities Building), Powell Library, Royce Hall, and Haines Hall. If you like pink flowers, boy do I know a lot of spots for you! But don't forget about the gorgeous purple flower trees of the Sculpture garden (and sometimes Bombshelter by Boelter Hall)!

Not only are there a bunch of iconic buildings, but there are also a bunch of sculptures, rails, arches, steps, and more that allow you to be creative with photos and not get stuck with the same 3 poses. My favorites are the railings at the top of Janss steps, EVERYTHING in Royce Hall, and literally any pair of steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Bring a change of shoes! Those 3 inch heels might look nice in photos but they won't feel so nice after walking a few miles.
  2. Iron your sash! If you take the sash right out of the bag before the graduation shoot, it's going to have some mad creases that will be visible in every photo.
  3. Plan early! Whether you need to order you dress, sash, gown, master's hood, etc., plan for delays.

Do you have any tips?

I offer sessions from March 1 - June 4. If you choose a sunrise session, the session will start between 10-30 minutes after sunrise depending on how cloudy the morning is (the more cloudy, the later we'll start). If you choose a sunset session, the session will start 1 hour and 45 minutes before sunset (so there's just enough sun at the end!)

When do you offer sessions?

I charge a flat rate. Each session will be the same price no matter how many people are in the group. Bring your friends, parents, anyone! It's all the same price. Keep in mind that the more people there are in a group, the less time there will be for individual photos.

How big can a group be?

Each session is $300 for up 90 minutes and you will receive 50-100 edited photos. You do NOT have to use the full 90 minutes but the $300 is a fixed value. UCLA's campus is big and iconic locations get really busy during grad pic season (not to mention the crowds when there are culture nights!). A 90 minute session ensures that you will get photos at every location you want!
